Got the Bug
"Last year I noticed the car parked at an old school house in Novato in the north bay. I put a note on it saying I was interested in the car. It looked like it had been left for dead...until I noticed it had been moved to a different part of the school's parking. The owner called me back and said he was not interested in letting the car go. I would just drive by and look at the car every few weeks and make sure it was still there. That's how things carried on until a few weeks ago. The owner is actually a friend of a friend and he was able to contact me. He said that it was time for the car to go to a good home. We were able to meet and exchange paperwork for the car. One new tire and a fuel filter was all the car needed. It was made in 1962, purchased September 22, 1962... its all original! 1200cc 40 hp motor getting about 40 mpg on my drive down from the Napa area. From what I was told and what I found cleaning the car, it was purchased from a dealer in San Jose. It was registered in Huntington Beach during the mid 90s. It then moved up north and parked for a while. I found a sticker dated 12-1-93 that shows 4,000 miles have been driven since then. The man who owned the car before I was lucky enough to receive it, was the 2nd owner. His father was the original owner."
